Flywheel Video · New York video production

Albany, NY
video production.

Put the audience’s questions at the center of an Albany, New York organizational or expert film. Flywheel Video develops the interview, records the conversation and films relevant context, then edits the material to explain the subject’s perspective and its place in the wider story.

Local production planning

Keep the Capital Region itinerary address-specific.

Empire State Development lists Film Albany among its Capital Region production resources. Use those regional contacts to begin questions, then identify each actual property and municipality in the filming plan. A private office, state-managed building and separate exterior should have distinct activity descriptions, with the appropriate location contact identified before the schedule treats them as available.

Access, sound,
and the filming day.

For an Albany program or association interview, confirm the speaker’s window and reserve the room early enough for equipment setup. Ask about building entry, background documents and nearby meetings that may affect sound. If the itinerary extends to another Capital Region address, give it its own access plan and reason for appearing in the film. Supporting footage should clarify what the speaker describes; an institutional exterior can add context, but it should not replace images of the work where those can be arranged.

Planning example · illustrative brief

Hypothetical brief: an organizational perspective in an organizational film

An association needs an Albany leader to explain one part of an organizational initiative. One possible brief defines the audience’s questions, approved terminology and the scope of factual review before filming. The conversation is recorded in a reserved office, with existing client assets and approved program coverage supplying context. The producer identifies which statements this participant should address and which belong to other interviews. The editor receives that story map alongside the material, with the role of the Albany chapter and any shorter versions clearly described in the scope.

From local capture
to final delivery.

Include the Albany location, building contact, subject availability and approved topic outline. Share useful supporting assets and the person consolidating review. We can map the interview’s narrative role, film the conversation and edit a clear explanation. Define factual checks, supporting graphics, captions and shorter versions so the finished piece answers specific audience questions rather than simply documenting a discussion.

Provisional planning guidance

Budget the interview and the institutional context together.

An Albany association film needs more than a speaker count. The estimate should distinguish office access, interview setup, approved program footage and any separate Capital Region address. Factual review, supplied documents and the number of edited explanations also affect scope; optional institutional exteriors should have their own production allowance.

Interview filming

$2,500–$4,500USD planning range

One filming day at one location, with two interviews. Your team supplies the creative direction and handles the edit.

One finished interview film

$5,250–$9,500USD planning range

Creative planning, one filming day, two interviews and one two-minute film. No additional format versions.

A connected film series

$11,750–$21,500USD planning range

Creative planning, two filming days, four interviews, three main films totaling five minutes, plus two straightforward format versions.

Illustrative scopes based on Flywheel’s current estimating guidance. These are provisional planning ranges, not fixed packages, a booking or a final quote. Actual locations, hours, crew, rights and delivery requirements need Flywheel confirmation.

Assumptions and costs to confirm

Planning assumptions

  • Starter USD planning allowances are working benchmarks, not a universal industry rate card or a final quote. Flywheel confirms the scope, crew, schedule and commercial terms.
  • Creative planning assumes discovery, a story outline, interview themes and basic production preparation.
  • Each production day assumes up to eight hours with a two-person interview or corporate production crew and a standard camera, basic lighting and sound package. Specialist equipment, extra crew and overtime need separate review.
  • Routine location coordination and ordinary interview preparation are included in the planning and filming allowances; those calculator rows add no separate charge. Location changes can still increase filming time.
  • Editing combines a base allowance for each distinct main film plus an allowance for the total finished minutes. The base alone is not the complete editing price.
  • An additional version means reframing or a straightforward shorter cut from the approved main film. New concepts, languages, major restructuring or extensive graphics need separate review.
  • Editing assumes two consolidated rounds of client feedback. Final review rounds, media handoff, source files, storage and licensing must be defined in the agreed scope.
  • All visitor quantities are working assumptions. Unknown scope, complex requirements or specialist review terms can prevent an automatic numerical estimate.

Exclusions unless agreed in scope

  • Travel and accommodation unless expressly included.
  • Location fees, permits, talent and usage rights unless expressly included.
  • Stock, music, third-party licenses and taxes unless expressly included.
  • Specialist equipment, additional languages, animation, visual effects, broadcast and unusual access requirements unless expressly included.
  • Additional filming, changed creative direction and new deliverables outside the confirmed scope.

Empire State Development — regional film offices ↗

What should we provide for an Albany government or association interview?

Send the actual building and room, a host contact, speaker windows and the topics requiring factual review. Distinguish a state-managed setting from a private office. That lets the production plan address entry and equipment arrangements with the right people before appointments become fixed.

Can an Albany interview include another Capital Region location?

Yes, when the second stop contributes something specific to the explanation. List its address, host and approved activity separately, with time for movement and another setup. A regional production resource can help identify contacts; it does not establish availability at either property.

How do several subject-matter reviewers affect the edit?

Identify which reviewer checks terminology or factual statements and name one person to consolidate comments about the film. Agree review stages before editing begins. A settled process helps distinguish corrections from new interviews, new graphics or an additional audience version that changes the original scope.

Can we make short answers from the longer organizational film?

We can scope shorter pieces around questions the Albany participants are already answering. Specify the audience and channel for each version while planning the interview. A concise standalone explanation may need a different opening, context and graphics from an excerpt taken directly from the main film.
