Customer Testimonial Video Production

Let the experience
tell the story.

Interview-led customer stories that connect a person’s experience with the questions your audience is asking. One testimonial or a series across locations.

Find the story
before writing the questions.

Start with the experience you want to understand: the situation, the choice your customer made and what changed for them. Decide which statements need supporting context and which moments can be shown through b-roll.

We can scope preparation, interview filming and supporting footage, with finished edits where required. Give interview subjects room to describe their own experience in their own words.

Define your scope

  • Audience questions and interview themes
  • Customer preparation and filming logistics
  • On-camera conversation and relevant b-roll
  • Single-story films or a connected testimonial series
  • Footage delivery, editing and agreed platform versions

Plan the details

Build a useful
review process.

Identify the customer contact, the person approving participation and the stakeholders reviewing the finished work. Discuss permissions, brand references and factual review before production.

For several customers, use a common story structure while leaving space for what makes each experience specific. List the versions you need for your website, presentations or other channels in the scope.

Experience behind
the conversation.

Interview-led work from Flywheel Film includes patient testimonials for Eli Lilly and a testimonial and research-led fundraising film for the Center for an Urban Future.

Build the brief around a specific experience.

Choose a participant because they can explain a relevant experience, decision or change. Give the production team background on that story and identify any facts your organization needs to verify. Prepare themes that invite concrete examples in the speaker’s own words.

  • Name the audience and the question the testimonial should answer.
  • Identify the customer contact and participation approval process.
  • List relevant products, environments or activities that can be filmed.
  • Describe the main story and any shorter or differently formatted versions.

Agree how the customer and your internal reviewers will contribute feedback. A consolidated review plan helps the editor distinguish factual corrections from changes in creative direction.

Questions to settle before production

Does the participant need a script?

Begin with themes and relevant background. If precise statements need approval, identify them in advance while allowing the participant to describe their personal experience naturally.

Can one interview support several versions?

Discuss the intended uses before filming. Each version needs an agreed editorial purpose, running length, framing and review scope; the interview alone does not define those deliverables.

Who approves the final testimonial?

Name the customer representative and your internal approver in the brief. Agree when each reviews the content and who returns the consolidated feedback.
