Flywheel Video · Hawaii video production
Honolulu, HI
video production.
An event in Honolulu, Hawaii, can produce thoughtful interviews and campaign films when the story is planned beyond the main stage. Flywheel Video develops the coverage, records conversations and venue activity, and edits the pieces around your audience’s interests and the gathering’s central ideas.

Local production planning
Separate the meeting venue from every outside location.
The Hawaiʻi Film Office’s state-location guidance distinguishes state-administered property from county, federal, and private locations. For Honolulu, identify the owner or manager of the interview venue and any additional exterior. A hotel booking does not settle access to a nearby beach or public area. Describe the footprint and ask the responsible authority about that specific activity before confirming the scene.

and the filming day.
At a conference hotel, establish equipment loading, guest credentials, camera positions, and access to a quiet interview room. Ask the AV team when feeds can be tested and whether nearby programming will affect dialogue. If some reviewers join from the mainland, agree a review window in the correct time zone instead of assuming they are available during local setup. Outdoor footage needs current weather and sound assessment, with a suitable interior alternative if wind, rain, or public activity would undermine the planned conversation.
Planning example · illustrative brief
An industry gathering with interviews for a campaign
A brand wants a Honolulu event recap and customer stories from guests attending the meeting. The hypothetical brief separates must-capture sessions from scheduled interviews, then identifies overlapping windows that may require independent coverage. A coordinator brings guests to the reserved room while the interviewer follows an agreed story outline. The venue clarifies which activities and presentations may appear. Any outside sequence has its own property inquiry and narrative purpose, so optional context does not consume the limited time available with customers who are returning to the event.
From local capture
to final delivery.
We turn the Honolulu agenda into an event-film brief with defined interview opportunities and coverage priorities. Include guest windows and venue and AV contacts, stating time zones for reviews and publication. We plan the edit alongside filming, distinguishing the recap from individual stories. Agreed references connect campaign pieces while each conversation retains its own subject and purpose.

Provisional planning guidance
Scope overlapping sessions and time-zone review.
A Honolulu event film can combine session coverage, customer appointments and reviewers working on the mainland. Include quiet-room access, AV tests, guest transitions and clearly stated time zones. List the recap and individual stories separately, with outside locations independently reviewed, so the provisional allowance follows the agenda rather than an undefined hotel-and-exterior assignment.
Interview filming
$2,500–$4,500USD planning range
One filming day at one location, with two interviews. Your team supplies the creative direction and handles the edit.
One finished interview film
$5,250–$9,500USD planning range
Creative planning, one filming day, two interviews and one two-minute film. No additional format versions.
A connected film series
$11,750–$21,500USD planning range
Creative planning, two filming days, four interviews, three main films totaling five minutes, plus two straightforward format versions.
Illustrative scopes based on Flywheel’s current estimating guidance. These are provisional planning ranges, not fixed packages, a booking or a final quote. Actual locations, hours, crew, rights and delivery requirements need Flywheel confirmation.
Assumptions and costs to confirm
Planning assumptions
- Starter USD planning allowances are working benchmarks, not a universal industry rate card or a final quote. Flywheel confirms the scope, crew, schedule and commercial terms.
- Creative planning assumes discovery, a story outline, interview themes and basic production preparation.
- Each production day assumes up to eight hours with a two-person interview or corporate production crew and a standard camera, basic lighting and sound package. Specialist equipment, extra crew and overtime need separate review.
- Routine location coordination and ordinary interview preparation are included in the planning and filming allowances; those calculator rows add no separate charge. Location changes can still increase filming time.
- Editing combines a base allowance for each distinct main film plus an allowance for the total finished minutes. The base alone is not the complete editing price.
- An additional version means reframing or a straightforward shorter cut from the approved main film. New concepts, languages, major restructuring or extensive graphics need separate review.
- Editing assumes two consolidated rounds of client feedback. Final review rounds, media handoff, source files, storage and licensing must be defined in the agreed scope.
- All visitor quantities are working assumptions. Unknown scope, complex requirements or specialist review terms can prevent an automatic numerical estimate.
Exclusions unless agreed in scope
- Travel and accommodation unless expressly included.
- Location fees, permits, talent and usage rights unless expressly included.
- Stock, music, third-party licenses and taxes unless expressly included.
- Specialist equipment, additional languages, animation, visual effects, broadcast and unusual access requirements unless expressly included.
- Additional filming, changed creative direction and new deliverables outside the confirmed scope.

Hawaiʻi Film Office — state locations and jurisdiction guidance ↗
Does a Honolulu hotel booking include a nearby beach sequence?
Identify the manager of every outside location separately. Hawaiʻi’s film guidance distinguishes state property from county, federal and private settings. Describe the exact footprint and activity to the responsible contact before confirming the scene; venue access does not settle the arrangements for adjoining public or other managed areas.
What should be confirmed before scheduling conference customers?
Establish loading, credentials, camera positions and a quiet interview room, then arrange AV testing. Compare guest windows with must-capture sessions and identify overlaps before assigning resources. A coordinator should bring customers to the room while the coverage plan protects the moments that cannot be repeated.
How should mainland review be scheduled?
State the review time and time zone explicitly with the responsible person before filming. Agree what they will review, how they receive it and who can decide locally if they are unavailable. Do not assume mainland reviewers can join spontaneously during a Honolulu setup or a guest’s interview window.
Which publishing requirements should the event estimate distinguish?
Name the recap, individual customer films, session recordings and additional formats, with review and publication timing for each. Include any required outside sequence separately. These outputs may share footage but have different capture and editing needs, so their scope should follow the agenda and intended audience use.
