Flywheel Video · Utah video production

Salt Lake City, UT
video production.

Build a Salt Lake City, Utah workplace film around the team’s particular contribution. Flywheel Video develops the interview approach, films the people and work at each relevant location and edits their perspectives into a coherent story, keeping shared visual choices grounded in the message rather than identical scenery.

Local production planning

Choose the authority for the actual location.

The Utah Film Commission explains that it helps identify permitting contacts rather than issuing filming permits itself. A Salt Lake City brief should name each building, public area, and any additional municipality. Ask which property, city, state, or other contact should review the planned activity, and describe where equipment and people will work rather than only the desired camera view.

Access, sound,
and the filming day.

For a Salt Lake City office interview, request room photographs and a sound sample before choosing a background. Review window direction, ventilation, neighboring meetings, and the route equipment takes through the building. A mountain view may be attractive but should not make a consistent interview treatment impossible. If this shoot joins a larger series, specify the eyeline, framing, recording format, and audio handoff in practical terms. Keep supporting workplace scenes faithful to the local team's role instead of asking every office to reproduce the same generic activity.

Planning example · illustrative brief

A team’s contribution to a shared employee story

An employer needs Salt Lake City staff to explain their contribution to a shared company initiative. The planning example assigns questions around decisions and collaboration specific to the local team. Shared framing and sound standards connect the interview with other offices, while b-roll follows an approved task unique to this location. A producer records names, role descriptions, and setup notes for the editor. The review plan gives local staff a route to confirm accuracy without creating separate, conflicting directions for the overall film. The final story can connect different places through a common purpose rather than identical scenery.

Provisional planning guidance

Budget a repeatable treatment and a workable room.

A Salt Lake City interview joining a larger program needs shared framing, sound and recording specifications, alongside a room that supports them. Windows, ventilation, building entry and supporting activity affect preparation. Pricing should identify the local contribution, organized media handoff or editing responsibilities and requested versions, with other municipalities or outdoor settings listed as separate production arrangements.

Interview filming

$2,500–$4,500USD planning range

One filming day at one location, with two interviews. Your team supplies the creative direction and handles the edit.

One finished interview film

$5,250–$9,500USD planning range

Creative planning, one filming day, two interviews and one two-minute film. No additional format versions.

A connected film series

$11,750–$21,500USD planning range

Creative planning, two filming days, four interviews, three main films totaling five minutes, plus two straightforward format versions.

Illustrative scopes based on Flywheel’s current estimating guidance. These are provisional planning ranges, not fixed packages, a booking or a final quote. Actual locations, hours, crew, rights and delivery requirements need Flywheel confirmation.

Assumptions and costs to confirm

Planning assumptions

  • Starter USD planning allowances are working benchmarks, not a universal industry rate card or a final quote. Flywheel confirms the scope, crew, schedule and commercial terms.
  • Creative planning assumes discovery, a story outline, interview themes and basic production preparation.
  • Each production day assumes up to eight hours with a two-person interview or corporate production crew and a standard camera, basic lighting and sound package. Specialist equipment, extra crew and overtime need separate review.
  • Routine location coordination and ordinary interview preparation are included in the planning and filming allowances; those calculator rows add no separate charge. Location changes can still increase filming time.
  • Editing combines a base allowance for each distinct main film plus an allowance for the total finished minutes. The base alone is not the complete editing price.
  • An additional version means reframing or a straightforward shorter cut from the approved main film. New concepts, languages, major restructuring or extensive graphics need separate review.
  • Editing assumes two consolidated rounds of client feedback. Final review rounds, media handoff, source files, storage and licensing must be defined in the agreed scope.
  • All visitor quantities are working assumptions. Unknown scope, complex requirements or specialist review terms can prevent an automatic numerical estimate.

Exclusions unless agreed in scope

  • Travel and accommodation unless expressly included.
  • Location fees, permits, talent and usage rights unless expressly included.
  • Stock, music, third-party licenses and taxes unless expressly included.
  • Specialist equipment, additional languages, animation, visual effects, broadcast and unusual access requirements unless expressly included.
  • Additional filming, changed creative direction and new deliverables outside the confirmed scope.

Resolve the location, capture and delivery questions before the filming day.

Utah Film Commission — jurisdiction and permit contacts ↗

Should we choose a Salt Lake City interview room for its mountain view?

Consider the view alongside sound, window direction, background depth and the treatment the series requires. Request photographs and a room recording before deciding. A strong setting should help the message without making consistent exposure, framing or intelligible dialogue impractical during the participant's available interview window.

Who handles a Salt Lake City shoot that includes another municipality?

List each property, municipality and proposed activity separately, including equipment and people beyond the interview room. The Utah Film Commission helps identify relevant contacts rather than issuing location permits itself. Confirm host arrangements and responsible local review for each stop instead of assuming a shared regional itinerary covers them all.

What specifications should another editor provide for the shoot?

Share framing and eyeline references, recording format, audio requirements and the desired media organization. Include how interview names, notes and supporting scenes should be labeled. A Salt Lake City capture brief can then state the handoff clearly, with editing and finished versions assigned to the correct team in the estimate.

How can workplace footage match a series without looking generic?

Agree consistent presentation choices while asking what the Salt Lake City team actually contributes to the story. Select approved scenes that demonstrate that role. Matching interviews does not require each office to stage identical activity; the supporting material can remain specific while serving a common narrative and delivery framework.
